You might have seen these ads and heard these radio spots in the Summer of 2008. This area of the website allows us to archive all of the statewide outreach that we’ve crafted to convey our messages about stormwater to Rhode Islanders. Ads and Radio
 

Bus Kings:


The “Uncle Jack” ad ran on 15 buses: ½ of which originated from the Providence RIPTA garage and ½ of which originated from the Newport RIPTA garage. The bus kings ran for 2 months, July-August 2008.

Bus Shelters:


The “Scary Dad” ad was placed on 12 bus shelters scattered around the state at sites where the RIPTA buses to South County pick up riders. The shelter ads were run for 2 months, July-August 2008.

Radio Spots, 15 seconds: mp3

Short radio spots aired for 6 weeks on selected CLEAR stations (WHJJ, WHJY, WWBB, WSNE). There were approximately 9 spots per week/per station, with 216 commercials running over a 6-week time period, beginning on July 14, 2008. It was projected that approximately 389,900 adults were reached by the commercials, and each listener heard them an average of 4.2 times per week for the 6-week run.

Life-sized displays of the “Scary Dad” ad were placed at 10 locations statewide. Did you see him?
