Enviroscapes Watershed Model*

The Enviroscapes models are teaching tools that many organizations use as a colorful, hands-on approach to children’s stormwater education. The “Watershed, Nonpoint Source, Stormwater Pollution and Prevention Model” illustrates the concept of water travelling in a watershed. Children can then add different representations of pollution (i.e. Kool-aid packets) to the model to show how stormwater affects the entire watershed.

NRICD- Water Day Celebration Packet

These games about water conservation, preservation and stewardship include a few with a stormwater focus. To learn more about the water festival click here. (http://www.nricd.org/landwaterconnection/waterfestival.htm)

Water Cycle Wristband Activity

Try out this great craft at festivals to get kids thinking about the water cycle. All you need is pipe cleaners or thread and yellow, clear, green, white, blue and brown beads to represent the different parts of the water cycle. Have kids color in the water cycle diagram with the corresponding bead color to reinforce what each bead represents.
